Tenant Move-Out Cleaning Checklist

As you prepare to move out, we want to make the transition as smooth as possible. If you have any questions about how to get your home move-out ready, please don’t hesitate to contact Bridge to Brow Property Group — we’re here to help.

Below is our Move-Out Cleaning Checklist. You can also find this form on the PMI Georgia website under the Residents page. This checklist is the same one our team uses during the final inspection, along with your original move-in condition report, to assess any damages or cleaning charges that may be deducted from your security deposit.

1. All Rooms

  • Remove all nails, screws, wall anchors, and window treatment hardware.

  • Dust and clean baseboards, corners, and ceilings—pay special attention to cobwebs.

  • Have all carpets professionally cleaned and provide a receipt.
  • Wipe down shelves inside closets and remove all hangers, liners, and personal items.

  • Clean light fixtures, switch plates, and door frames.

  • If applicable, clean out the fireplace thoroughly.

2. Kitchen

  • Deep clean the oven, oven racks, broiler pan, and storage drawer.

  • Clean the range hood and filters (you can run them through the dishwasher if needed).

  • Wipe down all cabinets and drawers—inside, outside, and on top. Remove any liners.

  • Thoroughly clean the refrigerator, including all shelves and drawers.
  • Clean the sink, countertop, and backsplash.

  • Mop and clean the kitchen floor.

  • Wipe down all light fixtures and remove any residue from cleaning products.

3. Bathrooms

  • Clean all light fixtures and mirror surfaces—no streaks.

  • Clean inside the medicine cabinet and any shelving.

  • Sweep and mop tile or vinyl flooring
  • Thoroughly clean the toilet, sink, bathtub or shower, and any storage cabinets.

  • Use appropriate cleaners on tiles, grout, and caulking to remove mold and soap scum.

  • All fixtures, faucets, soap dishes, and racks should be spotless.

4. Exterior, Garage, Basement, and Yard

(If you’re responsible for yard care according to your lease)

  • Mow, rake, and clear the yard of leaves and debris.

  • Sweep porches, decks, patios, and walkways.
  • Clean out the garage, basement, and any storage buildings—leave only items that came with the property.
  • Dispose of all trash and debris properly per your local collection guidelines.
Note: Items not accepted by the trash service must be removed at your expense.

Please take the time to complete each step thoroughly. A well-cleaned home helps ensure the prompt return of your security deposit.
